Kitchen hood or ventilated ceiling?

What is the right choice for efficient kitchen ventilation? Ventilation plays a crucial role in commercial kitchens. Without an efficient solution, steam, grease particles and odors spread unhindered throughout the room. But which technology is more suitable: a classic kitchen hood or a large-scale ventilation ceiling? This question occupies planners, operators and kitchen professionals alike.

Kitchen hoods: Proven technology with high efficiency

Kitchen hoods have been the standard in professional kitchens for decades . They capture vapors directly above the cooking zones and dissipate them in a targeted manner. Optimized airflow technology, as used in modern REVEN hoods, allows grease particles to be separated particularly efficiently. Thanks to integrated X-CYCLONE technology, filters remain free of blockages, while maintenance costs remain low.

Another advantage: kitchen hoods can be flexibly adapted. They can be installed above individual hobs, cooking units or even as island hoods. This makes them suitable for almost any kitchen configuration. The compact design also makes maintenance and cleaning easier, as all important components remain easily accessible.

Ventilated ceilings: Uniform air flow for large kitchens

In contrast, ventilated ceilings rely on an area-wide air flow. They ensure even extraction across the entire kitchen area. Ventilation ceilings are particularly advantageous in large kitchens with many cooking areas in a confined space. They prevent heat build-up and grease deposits from concentrating in certain areas.

However, ventilated ceilings also present challenges. Capture efficiency is often lower than with specifically placed kitchen hoods. They also require careful planning to ensure optimum air flow. A well thought-out combination of supply and exhaust air is essential to keep the air clean and prevent unwanted air currents.

What is the best solution?

The choice between a kitchen hood and a ventilated ceiling depends on various factors. Decisive factors include the size of the kitchen, the number of cooking zones and the type of preparation. In many cases, a combination of both systems offers the best results. In this way, the strengths of both technologies can be optimally utilized.
