Mistakes are often made when designing LED kitchen lights. Our new LED light tutorial explains this in a nutshell! With the new ecodesign requirements for light sources from September 1, 2021, there is no alternative to LED kitchen lights! For example, T8 fluorescent tubes will be completely banned from 2023. The requirements and properties of modern light sources are described in detail in a new REVEN LED guide.
Lighting for commercial kitchens is clearly defined in the European Kitchen Ventilation Standard EN 16282 in Part 2 and Part 3 and in EN 12464-1:2011, 5.3. For example, EN 12464-1:2011, 5.3 states exactly how the correct lighting design is calculated in lux (lx) in relation to the working plane in accordance with EN 12665 and EN 12464-1 and how many luminaires are required.
