Golf balls used to be smooth. They were made of leather. They were highly polished. And they looked perfect.      <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But that was precisely the problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because these smooth golf balls flew badly. They were unstable. And they did not reach great distances. Only when the balls were used did this change. They became scratched. They became rougher. And suddenly they flew better.      <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udc49 It is precisely this knowledge that is helping to increase the <strong>efficiency of aerosol separators<\/strong> today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-a-golf-ball-has-to-do-with-an-aerosol-separator\"><br><strong>What a golf ball has to do with an aerosol separator<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A clear rule often applies in ventilation technology:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udc49 Smooth is good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That is why many aerosol separators are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>highly polished<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Made of stainless steel<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>as streamlined as possible<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>But this assumption falls short. If you want to <strong>increase<\/strong> the <strong>efficiency of aerosol separators<\/strong>, you have to ask a different question: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udc49 What happens to the aerosols after separation?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-underestimated-problem-re-entrainment\"><br><strong>The underestimated problem: re-entrainment<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Many systems do not fail because of the separation itself.
