Do you know the difference between a real air flow as opposed to beautifully painted pictures with colorful arrows? <\/p>\n\n

Basically, the answer to this can be summed up in a nutshell:<\/p>\n\n

We research real air flows in scientifically equipped flow laboratories. This research is usually supported and supplemented by modern CFD software systems. Such an approach is widely used in the automotive industry, for example. <\/p>\n\n

In computer design and graphics programs, we create colorful little pictures with arrows. The basis for this are mere assumptions plucked out of the air. We do not check these assumptions with the help of CFD analyses. <\/p>\n\n

Real air flow according to the Hermann Rietschel Institute<\/h3>\n\n

The Hermann Rietschel Institute at TU Berlin has also published the following on real air flows and the effectiveness of ventilation measures:<\/p>\n\n

“To assess how well air renewal and pollutant removal work in the room and in detail in each room point, we use the so-called ventilation effectiveness. This can be determined using numerical flow simulations and\/or measurements. We use these methods in all our projects to evaluate indoor air flows and develop new, effective forms of ventilation.” <\/p>\n\n
