The digitalization of ventilation systems with the help of sensors and control electronics. The amount of exhaust air required in a commercial kitchen is regulated in almost all of Europe by the European kitchen ventilation standard EN 16282. How do you calculate the right amount of exhaust air for kitchens? The correct procedure is explained in VDI 2052 and DIN EN 16282. <\/p>\n\n

Digitalization of ventilation systems and the simultaneity factor<\/h3>\n\n

The calculation depends on the cooking appliances installed in the kitchen. These kitchen appliances essentially determine the amount of exhaust air required, depending on their size and connected load. Another factor that influences the correct amount of exhaust air and supply air is the simultaneity factor. However, determining the simultaneity factor is often where the trickery and “magic” begins. <\/p>\n\n

So why is there also a second calculation method according to VDI 2052? Sven Rentschler explains what he means by this in Reven’s webinar 2 on intelligent ventilation systems.
