Fine aerosols penetrate electronics, sensors and spindles, causing expensive damage. In addition, residues are deposited in buildings, <strong>increasing<\/strong> the <strong>fire load<\/strong>.  <\/p>\n\n<p><strong>This is why<\/strong> air pollution control in mechanical engineering protects people, systems and buildings at the same time.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-2-luftreinhaltung-im-maschinenbau-so-erfassen-und-saugen-wir-richtig-ab\"><br\/>2) Air pollution control in mechanical engineering: how we capture and extract correctly<\/h2>\n\n<p>We can only <strong>extract<\/strong> what we <strong>capture<\/strong>. That&#8217;s why we move the intake points directly to the source of the emissions. <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>We place pipes, nozzle plates and funnels as close as possible to the processing point, because every centimeter of distance drastically reduces the suction power.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We consciously plan flow paths so that air is always routed via the relevant process.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We rely on moving detection hoods for large machines because this is the only way to keep the distance constantly short.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>And if it is not structurally possible to capture the air directly, we program door openings with a delay so that the air in the interior is extracted first.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p><strong>Example:<\/strong> If the intake opening is two meters away from the milling cutter, the mist immediately flows into the room when the door is opened. Many people rely on filters for this, but they store liquid and this is exactly what leads to problems. <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-darum-setzen-wir-auf-abscheider\">That&#8217;s why we rely on separators<\/h3>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Separators do not store liquid, but return it directly to the circuit.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>This considerably reduces the fire load, as stored oils and emulsions always increase the risk.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We also save on operating costs because we don&#8217;t have to replace and dispose of cassettes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-warum-hepa-filter-hier-nicht-passen\">Why HEPA filters do not fit here<\/h3>\n\n<p>HEPA filters originate from cleanroom technology. They are perfect for bacteria and microorganisms, but completely unsuitable for oily aerosols. They clog up quickly, drive up costs and increase the risk of fire.  <\/p>\n\n<p>The following therefore applies: A HEPA filter can only be useful in niche cases &#8211; if smoke particles remain, for example. As a rule, a well-planned separation system is completely sufficient. <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-wie-wir-schadstoffe-trennen\">How we separate pollutants<\/h3>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Mechanical separators (e.g. X-CYCLONE) separate robustly and permanently.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stainless steel mesh agglomerates the smallest particles so that we can separate them efficiently.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Electrostatic stages capture the finest aerosols &lt; 1 \u00b5m and return liquid.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-&#x2139;-infokasten-brandlast-prufen\">\u2139\ufe0f Info box: Check fire load<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-light-green-cyan-background-color has-text-color has-background has-link-color wp-elements-3b5b12b519b18d46c6f74fc50d57f7c2\">\ud83d\udc49 Many filter systems store up to <strong>100 kg of liquid per filter cassette<\/strong>. These liquids often consist of oil or highly flammable emulsions. \u26a0\ufe0fGefahr: Each filter thus becomes an additional fire load. Test question: How many filters are there in the hall? Multiply the number \u00d7 stored liquid &#8211; and the real fire load becomes visible. But when it comes to operating costs, everything is different. <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Filter systems cause follow-up costs due to cassette replacement, disposal and downtime.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Separators save these costs because they work without storage media.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They also ensure sustainability, as coolants and lubricants remain in the cycle instead of ending up as waste.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>The technology is also impressive in terms of occupational safety, as waste and fire load are reduced.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-5-luftreinhaltung-im-maschinenbau-dezentral-und-zentral-kombinieren\"><br\/>5) Air pollution control in mechanical engineering: decentralized and centralized combination<\/h2>\n\n<p>In practice, we use two methods and often combine them:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Decentralized:<\/strong> We place air cleaners directly on the machine. The air is cleaned and blown back in above the machine. Heat recovery plays no role here.  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Central:<\/strong> In large companies, we conduct the exhaust air via air handling units.
